I think you missed a very important step that I've mentioned in my last
mail: which system would we start with?
I don't think we've talked about this yet.
We've listed some features of each pkgs/ports collections, we've heared
about some related changes in make(1) that can speed things up, we've also
had some future thoughts, and other funny things. We have not weighted the
mentioned features, which could act as a base for the decision mentioned
Or in other words: give me the CVS box, and I'll import you something. ;-)
BTW: I was told today that NetBSD's pkgsrc was ported to FreeBSD 4.0.
We (NetBSD) will look into integrating the changes - given that
NetBSD's pkgsrc already supports Linux and Solaris, this shouldn't
be too hard.
NetBSD - because Unix isn't just #include <linux.h>, i386, ILP32, ELF, ...!
